DIY Shower Fizzy Instructions
Who doesn’t love a good bath bomb? Whether it’s a gift for a special someone or just a treat for yourself, a good aroma therapy is always welcomed. Unfortunately, these days I just can’t take baths anymore (between being pregnant and chasing a 1 year old, there’s just no time or reason for a sub-par, luke-warm bath). Then I came to find out that shower fizzies are a thing! They’re basically the exact same thing as bath bombs but you can stick them in your shower instead. I then later found a recipe for each, and came to find they are the exact same thing (so if you really wanted you could just stick the bath bomb into the shower and call it good).
Making these shower fizzies was actually a lot more simple than I originally thought — and so worth it! Comparing them to store-bought shower fizzies, I found that the homemade ones actually had a lot stronger scent that lasted longer AND I got to control what was in there (my favorite part!). Super duper easy, just mix, spray, mix some more, and then fill the mold (just make sure to wear gloves for safety). One thing I did find after our first go-around was that if you don’t spray enough witch hazel, the fizzies will come out a bit crumbly, so better to go a little more than a little less. The same thing with the oils, go more rather than less. You will probably need more like 30-40 drops rather than 20-25 ESPECIALLY if you’re doing a subtle scent like lavender.
So here’s how it goes in summary: homemade is always best, the more oil the better, don’t skimp the witch hazel. And voila! Enjoy!
